To help stem the progress of Covid-19, professors and students at the Institute of Collective Health at UFBA carry out orientation and distribution of hygiene kits for the homeless in Salvador. The action also includes conversation circles with professionals working in the area.
“Our goal is to draw the attention of society and public authorities to the most vulnerable part of the population. It is not assistentialism, it is a right of these people ”, explains professor Joilda Nery (ISC / UFBA), one of those responsible for the work.
The distributed kits have products such as alcohol gel, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, toilet paper, mineral water, in addition to pamphlets with general information about the new coronavirus and hygiene care. All the material is the result of donations.
The action is carried out in partnership with the projects “Run to the Hug” and “Movement of Population in Street Situation”, with the support of students from the School of Nursing (UFBA), Faculty of Medicine of Bahia (UFBA) and Unijorge.
Information about donation of materials can be obtained by phone / whatsapp (73) 99191-9671.
