On Wednesday (13), ISC em Casa discussed Complementary Bill No. 39 and threats to the careers and salaries of civil servants. The session was attended by Luciene Fernandes, professor at the Institute of Health Sciences (ICS / UFBA) and vice president of the Federation of Teachers’ Unions and Teachers of Federal Institutions of Higher Education and Basic, Technical and Technological Education (Proifes ); Raquel Nery, professor at FACED / UFBA and president of the Union of Teachers of Federal Education Institutions of the State of Bahia (APUB); and Luis Eugenio de Souza, professor at ISC / UFBA.
The bill in question imposes restrictions on civil servants as a counterpart to the Union’s financial assistance to states and municipalities in the face of the covid-19 pandemic. The text provides, for example, forbidding salary adjustments and new hires until the end of 2021.
